Terms of Use

Last updated: January 2025

Please read these terms carefully before using the Harit Pahal platform. They set out your rights and responsibilities as a user, and ours as the service operator.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Harit Pahal website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.

2. Nature of the Service

Harit Pahal facilitates verified reforestation contributions in India. When you donate to fund trees, you are contributing to a planting programme managed by Harit Pahal and its field partners. Tree planting is subject to site-specific ecological conditions, seasonal schedules, and government clearances. Harit Pahal will make reasonable efforts to plant trees within 90 days of your contribution.

3. Donations & Payments

All donations made through this platform are final. In exceptional circumstances (duplicate transactions, technical errors), refunds may be considered within 7 days of the transaction. A planting certificate will be issued within 30 days of a successful contribution.

4. Planting Certificates

A planting certificate is issued once the sapling associated with your contribution has been physically planted and geo-tagged. Certificate data (GPS coordinates, species, date) is based on field verification and may be updated following survival audits. Certificates are personal and non-transferable.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to: - Use the platform for any unlawful purpose - Submit false or misleading information - Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the system - Reproduce or distribute platform content without written permission

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this platform — including text, photography, data visualisations, and the Harit Pahal brand — is owned by or licensed to Harit Pahal. You may share content for non-commercial awareness purposes with appropriate attribution.

7. Limitation of Liability

Harit Pahal is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform or the outcome of any specific planting. Force majeure events (floods, fires, pest outbreaks) may affect planted areas; in such cases, Harit Pahal will make reasonable efforts to replant or notify affected contributors.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
